Detectives Investigating Fatal Hit and Run Accident

Seeking the Public’s Assistance

Kalamazoo, MI:  On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at about 10:08 p.m., a passerby alerted Officers to a body in the roadway on Mills Street near Oneil Street.  Officers checked and located a badly injured body with a bicycle nearby.  The investigation suggests that this was a hit and run crash.  The body was taken to WMED for an autopsy.  Detectives and the Crime Lab were called in to continue the investigation.  At this time, the name of the deceased is being withheld until formal next of kin notifications can be made.

Detectives are asking anyone who might have passed along Mills Street from Kings Highway to E Michigan Avenue at about 10:00 pm to call.  Observations made during this time will greatly assist Detectives in determining how this occurred and who was involved.
